ABOUT 2SHIFT

ToShift exists because I got tired of watching the same mistakes repeat.

Manufacturing companies have implemented more and more systems over 25 years without commensurate gains in productivity. Six forces are now converging to make the old logic obsolete and to create the conditions for something genuinely new.

"I've spent 25 years in logistics technology. I've built companies, led transformations, and seen a lot of expensive failures."
André Käber, Founder

From Wismar to world-leading logistics systems

I grew up in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in the north of Germany. A place where things are built, shipped, and moved. Where you understand logistics not as an abstraction, but as the physical reality of how the world works. I studied transportation economics in Wismar, drawn by a simple fascination: how complexity becomes elegance, and how a single broken process at a factory gate can ripple through an entire supply chain before anyone realizes where it started.

I spent years on both sides of the table. Inside global supply chains at Philips Semiconductors, where production schedules collapse under demand volatility, then inside SAP, where I understood with growing clarity what even the world's most powerful logistics platforms couldn't do on their own: connect intelligently to the physical reality of yards, gates, docks, and drivers. That gap was where I decided to build something.

In 2008, I founded Leogistics. We built transport, warehouse, yard, and collaboration solutions, connecting physical operations with intelligence for organizations like BMW, BASF, Beiersdorf, Evonik, Nestlé, Airbus, ABP, Volkswagen, and home24. Companies that don't tolerate systems that don't work, at scale, in real time, every single day. We spun off myleo/dsc as a SaaS platform with thousands of users and millions in ARR. And the longer we built, the more clearly I saw the structural failure underneath all of it.

The problem was never the technology. Companies were buying transformation in projects with fixed scope, fixed timeline, a go-live date, as if logistics had an ending. It doesn't. What didn't exist was a model built for transformation as a permanent condition, not a one-time event. Nobody had built a company to fill that gap.

That's why I founded 2Shift. Not another implementation partner. The operating system for continuous industrial transformation where we design execution architectures, embed AI as a decision layer within operations, and stay. Because go-live is not the end of the journey. It is the beginning of the one that matters.

It was never the technology

After hundreds of transformations, I noticed a pattern. Companies would invest millions in new systems like ERP, WMS, TMS, MES, and productivity wouldn't move. The Gartner data confirmed it: flat since 2015, despite unprecedented technology spending.

The problem wasn't the technology. It was never the technology.

It was the disconnect between people, processes, and organization. It was the project mindset in a world that requires continuous adaptation. It was consultants who delivered PowerPoints instead of outcomes.

"Most companies invest in transformation – but only few achieve real impact. The reason is rarely missing technology. It is almost always the missing connection between people, processes, and organization."

Not another consulting company

I didn't start 2Shift to build another consulting company. I started it because the traditional model is broken. Selling man-days and projects that end, leaving organizations exactly where they started.

2Shift is what I wish existed when I was on the other side: a partner that provides clarity before asking for commitment, that builds transformation as a capability rather than a one-time event, that measures success by impact rather than hours billed.

We don't advise transformation. We are the operating system for it.

Being unreasonable isn't the same as being reckless

Progress, George Bernard Shaw wrote, depends on unreasonable people, those who insist on adapting the world to themselves rather than the other way around.

AI as Liberation, Not Replacement

"AI becomes the operating system of the future, not just another tool." André Käber, DEJ Technology Interview

Generative AI, agentic AI, industrial AI: these aren't features to add to your existing systems. They're the foundation of how organizations will operate. But the purpose isn't to replace people. It's to free them from what I call "fake work": tasks that consume time without creating value.

When AI handles the routine, people can return to what makes them distinctly human: creative design, discovery, strategic decision-making. The things that can't be automated.

  • Clear governance frameworks combining ethics and transparency
  • New roles (AI Stewards, Data Translators)
  • Human-in-the-loop decision-making with measurable accountability
  • Positioning people at the center of change

Transformation as Capability, Not Project

The era of project-based transformation is over. Organizations don't need consultants who declare victory when the budget runs out. They need to build the capability to transform continuously, to adapt, learn, and evolve as the world changes around them.

"Many companies cling to obsolete business models despite technological disruption. Rather than incremental improvements, organizations need courage to abandon fundamentally outdated systems before the market forces them to." From "7 Uncomfortable Truths"

We don't impose change. We enable organizations to build the capability to transform themselves.

Values That Guide Us

What we stand for

Freedom

My north star. In every relationship, professional and personal, I value the space to think, create, and decide.

Trust

The foundation for honest partnership. Without it, nothing works. With it, everything accelerates.

Authenticity

We're all born as individuals. The pressure to conform is immense. I reject it.

Courage

Stepping into the unknown with optimism. It's where real growth happens.

The 2Shift Approach

Squads, Not Consultants

Dedicated 4-person teams: Enterprise Architect, AI/Data Engineer, SAP Logistics Lead, Human-Centered Activation Lead. Small enough for speed. Experienced enough for complexity.

Clarity Before Commitment

Our Readiness Assessment maps exactly where you are before we ask for anything. Your maturity level, your exposure to the six forces, your gap to where you need to be.

Architecture Before Implementation

Wrong technology decisions cost €500K-2M to reverse. Our Architecture Sprint gets it right first, so you don't spend years fixing what should have been designed correctly.

Continuous Loops, Not Project Endings

Transformation isn't something you finish. Our Continuous Loop retainers keep us working together, measuring impact, adapting to change, building capability that compounds.
